How OweNo works

Yes. OweNo is free on both iOS and Android, with no subscription and no paid tier. There are no ads, and we do not sell your data.

No. OweNo is an expense tracker, not a payments app — it never touches your money and never asks for card or bank details. It keeps the shared record of who paid for what and works out who owes whom, then you settle up however you already do: bank transfer, cash, or any payment app you like.

Share a link or let them scan the group QR code. Anyone who taps it is added to the group straight away — there is nothing to configure and no invite codes to type in.

Yes. Split equally with one tap, or set custom amounts per person when someone had the expensive main and someone else just had a side. Tips are included in the split, so the maths still works out.

Yes. Add expenses in whatever currency you paid in and OweNo converts them using live exchange rates, so every balance is shown in your group’s home currency automatically. Useful on trips where a few people paid in different places.

It works out the smallest number of transfers that clears everyone’s balance. Instead of six people paying each other back one by one, you might end up with two payments that settle the whole group.

It is built for them. Travel Mode adds an itinerary alongside your expenses, so stays and plans live next to what they cost. You can also set a group budget, keep a shared shopping list, and run a poll when the group cannot agree on what to do next.

Anything with a shared cost: rent and bills with housemates, a weekly grocery run, dinners out, a stag or hen do, or a couple keeping track of joint spending. A group can be anything you want to split.
